The logging industry has had a long history in Northern Michigan, and has remained so in the Manton area.  This unique 5k starts and finishes at Manton High School.  Runners complete the one mile loop course and return to the High School parking lot where they will select a 3-4″ diameter log which will weight approximately 5-15 lbs. and complete 10 burpees also known as down ups.  After which runners will head back out on the course for another one mile loop and return to complete 10 squats with their log.  After their final lap of the course runners will then have to haul and stack 10 pieces of split logs before finishing.

*Runners may by-pass the strength activities but it will add 2 minute penalty per activity.
